Précision_sur la representation :	Sainte Balbine (fille de saint Quirin, martyr, et titulaire de l'église) est représentée debout, vêtue d'une robe aux longues manches serrées, couverte d'un manteau élégamment drapé à l'antique dont les amples plis tombent à terre en dégageant la pointe des pieds nus. La pliure du genou droit tend le tissu et laisse deviner le galbe de la jambe. Le voile fixé au sommet de la tête laisse voir une abondante chevelure séparée par une raie médiane en deux bandeaux qui se ramasse dans la nuque cachant en partie les oreilles, et encadrant symétriquement une figure pleine, aux traits réguliers. L'encolure arrondie de la robe découvre largement le cou. La main droite s'appuie sur la poitrine, la main gauche négligemment tendue tient une plame d'origine récente qui remplace peut-être les chaînes qui sont l'attribut plus courant de la sainte (elle est réputée avoir retrouvé les chaînes portées par saint Pierre dans la prison Mamertine).
